How to · Rescheduling

Rescheduling a SwimSafer assessment.

SAQ allows rescheduling in three situations: a medical certificate, a rain-off, or any request submitted more than three weeks before the assessment. Each one routes through a slightly different channel. Here is the operational walk-through, with the traps that catch most parents.

Quick answer

You can reschedule for one of three reasons: a valid medical certificate, a rain-off on the day, or any request submitted at least three weeks before the original assessment. Inside three weeks with no MC and no rain-off, the slot is forfeited.

Pick the flow that matches your situation

Flow A

Medical certificate

The participant could not attend the assessment because of illness or injury, and you have an MC dated for the day of the assessment.

Email the MC to [email protected] as promptly as you can. The CAMS Handbook also allows uploading the MC directly to CAMS within 24 hours of the assessment day. Once SAQ validates it, you keep your right to reschedule.

Flow B

Rain-off, or request more than 3 weeks ahead

Either the assessment was rained off by the assessor, or you are requesting the change at least three weeks before the original date.

Follow the five-step CAMS portal process below.

The five-step CAMS portal process (Flow B)

  1. 1

    Log into the CAMS portal

Open https://saqswimsg.org.sg/home/ and sign in with the participant's account.

CAMS portal login or landing page after sign-in.

  2. 2

Find a new slot, but do not book or pay

Click Register for an assessment. Filter by date, stage, and venue to find a slot that is at least three weeks away from when you intend to send the email.

Trap: the page looks like a normal booking flow. The SAQ guide explicitly says you are not required to book and pay at this step. You are only here to identify the slot you want, then pass the code to the rescheduling team.

  3. 3

Note the assessment code, then email the rescheduling team

Each assessment slot has a unique code shown on the slot card, in the format HBB-260509-01 (Stage 2). Copy the full code as shown.

    Screenshot needed

An assessment card showing the code format clearly.

Email [email protected] with all of the following:

  4. 4

Wait for the rescheduling team to verify and confirm

Once SAQ has verified that the requirements are met, the rescheduling team will move your booking and send a confirmation email. The published service-level is three to five working days.

  5. 5

Check "My Assessments" in the CAMS portal

The rescheduled assessment will appear under the My Assessments tab. If the participant has already completed the online theory quiz for this stage, they do not need to take it again.

What to expect

When you cannot reschedule

Rescheduling is strictly not allowed in these cases:
