A Western Heartland Pool Since 1988

Bukit Batok Swimming Complex opened on 4 April 1988, built to serve the growing residential population of Bukit Batok New Town. The estate was one of several large HDB developments in the western corridor during the 1980s, and the swimming complex was part of the broader push to give every new town its own sport and recreation facilities.

The complex sits within Bukit Gombak Sport Centre at 2 Bukit Batok Street 22. It is a straightforward training facility: a 50-metre competition pool with 8 lanes and 370 spectator seats, a teaching pool, and a wading pool for young children. There are no slides, wave pools or water play features - the focus is on serious lap swimming and lessons.

After more than 38 years of operation, Bukit Batok Swimming Complex has had no major renovation on record. It remains one of the older ActiveSG pools still running in its original form, a functional neighbourhood pool that gets the job done.

What's at Bukit Batok
