SwimSafer at Bukit Batok
Bukit Batok Swimming Complex has served the west since 4 April 1988. It opened as part of the 1980s push to give each new HDB town, Bukit Batok among them, its own sport and recreation facilities, and it sits within Bukit Gombak Sport Centre at 2 Bukit Batok Street 22.
Nothing here is built for play: there are no slides or wave pool, just a 50m competition pool (8 lanes, 370 spectator seats), a teaching pool and a wading pool. SwimSafer classes use the teaching pool, while the competition pool is mostly lap swimming and training.
Bukit Batok is normally the West's CAMS assessment centre. During facility works, West assessments have been held at Jurong West Swimming Complex since 13 August 2026, expected until March 2027, and ActiveSG closed the competition pool from 10 August to 4 October 2026. SwimSafer classes at Bukit Batok have carried on throughout.

Bukit Batok Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

Singapore Swimming Academy runs SwimSafer classes at the teaching pool. Group and private lessons are available for children and adults. Coaches are SportSG SwimSafer accredited and preparation covers:
- Stages 1 to 3: foundation water skills through to 50 metres continuous swimming.
- Bronze (Stage 4): stroke improvement, rescue skills, 100m continuous.
- Silver (Stage 5): diving, H.E.L.P. position, throw rescue.
- Gold (Stage 6): six strokes over 400m, self-made float survival.

When is Bukit Batok Swimming Complex open?
Every day from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM except Wednesdays, its maintenance day. A Wednesday that falls on a public holiday is a normal opening day. The competition pool also has an early session, 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. ActiveSG has the whole complex down as closed on 29 October 2026, and its Facilities Closure page lists any others.
Where is the SwimSafer test held for children learning at Bukit Batok?
Bukit Batok is normally the West CAMS centre, but during facility works the assessments are at Jurong West Swimming Complex (20 Jurong West Street 93). They moved there on 13 August 2026 and are expected to stay until March 2027, on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Check the venue on the booking confirmation before you travel.

Bukit Batok Swimming Complex charges the standard ActiveSG rates.
