Hougang's Pool Since 1987
Hougang Swimming Complex opened on 24 May 1987 as part of HDB's programme of building sports facilities in every new town centre. Hougang New Town was developed from the early 1980s, and the swimming complex has served residents across Hougang, Kovan, and Upper Serangoon for over 35 years.
The complex has a 50-metre competition pool with 8 lanes and 320 spectator seats, a teaching pool, and a wading pool for young children. It sits opposite Hougang Polyclinic, near Hougang Mall.
The complex closed in April 2024 for a major redevelopment and reopened in 2026. The upgraded facility now has a sheltered teaching pool with ramp access, water play features, a larger ActiveSG gym, fitness studios, basketball courts, a running track, and barrier-free covered linkways connecting to the surrounding estate.

Hougang Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

- Silver (Stage 5): diving, H.E.L.P. position, advanced rescue.
