A Training Hub Since 1991

Bishan Swimming Complex opened on 1 December 1991 as part of the Bishan Sports and Recreation Centre. It was built to serve the growing population in Bishan New Town, which had been developed through the 1980s as one of Singapore's largest HDB estates.

The complex sits within the Bishan Sports and Recreation Centre, which also includes a stadium, a sports hall and indoor courts. It remains one of the busiest public pools in the central region, popular with lap swimmers, competitive training groups and families.

Adjacent to the complex is Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, one of the largest urban parks in Singapore. The park's naturalised river and open green spaces make the area a popular weekend destination. A CVDDS drowning prevention system has been installed at the pool for added safety.

What's at Bishan

Three pools within the Bishan Sports and Recreation Centre, next to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

50m Competition Pool

Eight-lane competition pool with starting blocks. Open for lap swimming daily. Early morning access on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM.

Teaching Pool

Shallower pool used for swimming lessons, beginners and general swimming. A good option for children and adults building water confidence.

Wading Pool

Shallow splash area for young children. Low water depth for safe play. Popular with families on weekends.

Nearest CAMS centre

Assessments are held at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex.

Bishan Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

Assessment days at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex: Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

There are five CAMS centres in Singapore. Your coach will usually book your child into the closest one. Families can also reschedule through the CAMS Platform if the default session doesn't suit.
