An East-Side Pool Since 1978

Geylang East Swimming Complex opened in August 1978 as part of the Geylang East neighbourhood's recreational facilities. It was built to serve the growing population in the Aljunied, Geylang and Paya Lebar areas during a period of rapid public housing expansion.

The complex sits on a compact site along Aljunied Avenue 1, just a short walk from Paya Lebar MRT station. Despite its age, the pool remains popular with lap swimmers, families and swimming lesson groups throughout the week.

The complex was renovated in 2004, with upgrades to the changing rooms, pool deck and filtration system. The 50-metre competition pool is one of the older full-length outdoor pools still in regular use in central-east Singapore.

What's at Geylang East

Three outdoor pools including a full 50-metre competition pool, teaching pool and wading pool with slide.

50m Competition Pool

Teaching Pool

Shallower pool used for swimming lessons, beginners and casual swimming. Outdoor setting with a relaxed pace.

Wading Pool with Slide

Shallow wading pool with a water slide for young children. Popular with families on weekends.

Nearest CAMS centre

Assessments are held at Jalan Besar Swimming Complex.

Geylang East Swimming Complex is not a CAMS assessment centre. SwimSafer classes run here, but the formal in-pool test for certification takes place at your nearest centralised centre.

Assessment days at Jalan Besar Swimming Complex: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

There are five CAMS centres in Singapore. Your coach will usually book your child into the closest one. Families can also reschedule through the CAMS Platform if the default session doesn't suit.
