SwimSafer Stage 3
Personal & Stroke Development Skills
Principles of personal survival as well as basic rescue skills are taught. Skills include sculling, underwater skills and the use of personal flotation device. Goal is to achieve 50m of continuous swimming.
Clothing Requirement
In Stage 3, the clothing requirement remains the same, but the tasks become more complex. Participants must swim 25 metres and fit a personal flotation device (PFD) while clothed. This stage focuses on realistic survival tasks, where learners might need to put on life-saving equipment in the water.
Wearing clothing in this stage simulates real-life conditions, such as falling into the water and needing to stay afloat while weighed down by wet clothes. This helps participants develop both the physical and mental resilience necessary for performing survival tasks under difficult circumstances.
